Job Description

Primary Duties

Health Technology Solutions (HTS) provides technology services in support of the agency’s mission, strategic plan, and information technology (IT) Portfolio. The Office of Enterprise Architecture (EA) provides high quality technology services by defining, upholding, and communicating the vision of information technology and business architecture and solutions that support business strategies of our agency.

As the Enterprise Business Architect, this position oversees the definition of the future state and current state business architecture within the agency and uses it to identify and guide projects while ensuring the architecture evolves in response to business needs (planning, analysis, design, configuring, and problem solving).

This position plays a key role in supporting the enterprise in terms of its governance structure, business processes, and business information. This position aligns strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services; partners and suppliers’ organization; capabilities; and key business and information technology initiatives. The primary focus is the business motivations, business operations and business analysis frameworks and related networks that link these aspects of the enterprise together. The Enterprise Business Architect works to develop an integrated view of the enterprise using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry standard techniques.

Required Qualifications
NOTE: Experience may have been gained concurrently.

• An Associate’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, System Analysis, Business or a related field; AND four (4) or more years (full-time equivalent) of professional experience in one (1) or more of the following disciplines: Systems development, business analysis, data administration, business or program management.


• Six (6) or more years (full-time equivalent) of professional experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Systems development, business analysis, data administration, business or program management.


• Five (5) or more years (full-time equivalent) of recent (within the last eight years) professional experience working with executive leadership, business unit managers and information technology staff to document business processes and the application of technology to resolve challenges.

• Demonstrated experience proficiently translating complex business issues into readily understood concepts for staff, management, and the public.

• Knowledge of the following:

o At least one of the following architectural frameworks; TOGAF, MITA, Federal Enterprise Architecture FrameworkV2.

o Industry standard notations for documenting business processes for use in architectural designs (BPMNv2 preferred).

o Industry standard for data administration.

o Basic networking and data security principles.
