Job Description

Primary Duties

Health Technology Solutions (HTS) provides technology solutions and management in support of the agency’s mission, strategic plan, and the agency’s IT Portfolio. The Office of Applications and Data Services (ADS) provides high quality technology services by developing and implementing reliable IT systems, providing and supporting mechanisms for collecting, managing, and presenting data to ultimately maximize its usefulness for public health decisions and business functions.

This position is an expert-level Lead SharePoint Architect responsible for providing expert level consultation, administration, architecture, standards, support, training, and maintenance of various internal and external SharePoint sites, workflows and applications and in coordinating the management of the agency’s SharePoint environment with Washington Technology Solutions (WaTech), the agency’s SharePoint Service Provider.

The primary objective of the Lead SharePoint Architect position is the management and governance of SharePoint to institutionalize standard use and best practices across the agency. SharePoint is used agency wide by Department of Health employees to collaborate internally and with external partners. The Lead SharePoint Architect serves as evangelist to staff on SharePoint features, functionality, best practices, business process automation and enhancements in addition to promoting a consistent look and feel across the agency.

Required Qualifications
NOTE: Experience may have been gained concurrently.

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or closely related field; AND one (1) or more years (full-time equivalent) of professional experience in one (1) or more of the following IT disciplines: SharePoint Site Collection or Server Administration, Systems development, Web Site Design/Development and Management, Web Content Management Systems or IT Consulting.

OR

• An Associate’s degree or higher in an Information Technology program or a closely related field; AND three (3) or more years (full-time equivalent) of professional experience in one (1) or more of the following IT disciplines: SharePoint Site Collection or Server Administration, Systems development, Web Site Design/Development and Management, Web Content Management Systems or IT Consulting.

OR

• Five (5) or more years (full-time equivalent) of professional experience in one (1) or more of the following IT disciplines: SharePoint Site Collection or Server Administration, Systems development, Web Site Design/Development and Management, Web Content Management Systems or IT Consulting.

AND

• Three (3) or more years (full-time equivalent) of professional experience developing or working with web applications or configuring/administering content management systems which includes demonstrated experience in the following:

o Designing, developing, or configuring web sites or web collaboration software.
o Preparing documentation including internal technical documents, system diagrams, use cases, test cases, and user documentation and manuals.
o Proficiently translating complex technical issues into readily understood concepts for staff, management, and the public.
